CU JAPANESE ENSEMBLE:

This ensemble is open to all CU students and requires no audition. The class meets once a week (Thursday afternoons) for three hours during the semester. Students learn a variety of music and dance styles through  singing in Japanese and playing traditional instruments such as taiko drums, shamisen (3-string lute), and flutes.

Private lessons

Private lessons are taught out of Jay and Mami's home in Boulder, Colorado. A licensed dancer of the Bando school of dance, Mami teaches Bando school Japanese dance under the artist name Miko Bando. Jay and Mami also train students in shamisen, singing, flute and drums in the traditional Japanese manner of one-on-one instruction.
